S3 Episode 8: CANDICE D’MEZA: Writes of Passage

A writer, actor, filmmaker, and activist all embodied in one talented multi-disciplinary artist. Candice is a soul-centered entrepreneur from Houston, Texas who believes in the transformative power of belief. She is the creator of Fatherland, WAIL and 30 Ways To Get Free. In Candice’s artistic productions she merges her academic background (B.A., Black Studies; Master of Public Administration) with a deep rooting in African spiritual traditions and the metaphysical world. She is currently commissioned to write a new play for Catastrophic Theatre, and is working on a new collection of poetry under the title INITIATION. She joins me to express her affection for the Oxford comma, to discuss her shows being created as a ceremony with a ritual attached and how along the way she learned to hold love & anger in the same hand.
